John Tucker Must Die reveiw

The film that I watched was ‘John Tucker Must Die’ I don’t normally watch ‘chic flicks’ or ‘romcoms’ so I thought I would watch a film of this genre for a change.
When I saw the trailer of this film I was really excited as I thought this film would be really funny and enjoyable. When I did watch the film my opinions did stay the same for the most. I felt it was really funny as most parts did make me laugh. however I felt it was like another typical teenage movie so I think they could have changed that part around to make it slightly different as it was obvious what would happen as it was so predictable which is the reason why I didn’t like this genre of films as they are mostly all the same and very predictable.

Perfume advert comparison

Between both these images there are many similarities along with many differences.
From the setting of each advert I noticed there were more similarities than differences. The obvious difference firstly is that the Chanel advert is set indoors on a train whereas the other advert it set outdoors. You can tell in the Chanel advert that the place she is in is very grand as the hardware in the train looks really expensive and the whole train part itself looks really expensive. Likewise the Ralph Lauren advert is also similar and the setting of the advert also looks really posh. In the background you can see as if the person is outside a mansion with high gates and clean cut hedges. Along with the character the other main attraction in the image is of the vintage car. The car is really big and is placed in the middle where it is definitely visible. So they both give of an expensive and high class vibe.
The characters used in both adverts are portrayed as very classy, elegant and high class people and this can be identifies from the clothes they are wearing and their posture. In the Chanel advert the model is wearing a long sleek gown type dress and in the RL advert the model is wearing a full 3 piece suit and with a vintage looking satchel and a fur coat over the shoulders. The expressions of the characters also tell us what they are like and also represent the perfume ad well. The Chanel models looks are really soft and innocent and very classy and elegant as she looks out the window just as the RL models expression are as his posture is really relaxed and he is giving off a cool and ‘look at me’ vibe.
The colours schemes used in both adverts appear to be very dull and subtle. Colours like navy blue, browns and dark greens are used and they are all very neutral colours. The colours really give off a fall and autumn vibe as both the adverts are part of the fall collection. The use of the brown hardware in the train in the Chanel advert give off a very luxurious feel and looks as if it is very expensive wood. The greens in the RL advert show fall time and are very neutral tones.
In the Chanel advert the product that is being advertised is a perfume and in the RL advert the product is more the whole fall collection of the brand.  Both products are part of really high end and luxurious brands.  The images  that are used and the way the advert is shown, shows that they are trying to sell a lifestyle to use as well as the product and they are saying that your life can become this classy and rich by wearing these clothes and buying these products.
