The Thing website analysis

The film itself does not have a seperate website dedicated to it however the website is linked with the Universal compnay website, which is the institution.

The website itself it is really plain and dull. the background is white and over it, it has normal grey and black text and images. This is something i didnt expect, i thought that the website would be really dark and mysterious with say a picture from the film as the background but this was not the case.

The website includes options that are really simple like somewhere where you can veiw the synopsis, cast and other infomation pages. it also has places and links of where you can download or purchase the film.

The main part of the website is the largest and it is one of the first things you will see. It is a large window where you can eithe veiw the trailer of the film or can change it to veiwing images.

Everything on the website is relevent, infomation and image wise but i think it could have been a bit more film releated as there was no aspects of the film or the theme implied to the website.

Smiley website analysis

http://smileymovie.com/

It is hard to tell wether the website for this film is official or not however the look of the website does look proffesional. the look of the websitefull but the website itself  is quite basic and is not too complex. the website itself is agian similar to the layout and theme of the poster, the backgroundagain is similar to the poster as the images are the same, the image of the characters has been used again. on the first page of the website we also ahve 2 reveiws of the film, it has been described as "the new face of horror." One the website there is a repeated use of links to external websites, these include sites like Facebook and Twitter.
Another thing that has been used is advertisement of buying the film. the alert for this in in a red colour and it is really eye catching. This is a technique used to pull the audience in and get them to buy the film.

The page is really short and at the end of the film is the billing block of the film. This is in white ink and this really stands out over the black plain background however the writing is still not clear and is really blured and tightly packed. Also featured at the end is the name of the production company and institution infomation.

The possesion website analysis

The wesite for this film is part of 'Lionsgate' production and that is the main URL of the website. This makes it ifficial as the website is in link with the institution.  The website its self reminded me of the poster as it has a similar layout and colour scheme. The colours are again the same as the background of the website is also plain black, as was the poster. The font style and everything is also the same aswhat was featured on the poster. There is also a link to a Facebook page where you can 'like' the website/film.

On the website there are many reviews of the film from different sources like famous company's and people. This is to show off the positive feedback they have received. The colour of this is like a gold beige colour and this again stands out of the black background. The background is not fully black though, it has detailing of the creatures that are flying out of the girls mouth, i think this makes it look nice as it adds more detail to the page opposed to just a bring plain black background.. The image of this is slightly different, the pose is the same, like how e girl is looking up screaming except this time out her mouth there are a load of moths and flying bugs flying out.

Right at the bottom is where the menu sits. The menu uses a simple navigation method as it is in a bar form. The buttons are clearly labeled and are easily accessible. Options include a link to the official trailer and a photo gallery.
