Star power means be able to have the power to attract the audience by seleting a top actor or actress to play a role. This is used as a tool to pull more people in and get the audience on their side. At this moment #1 on the pwer chart is famous actress Jennifer Laurence, as she has won many awards recently for her films and for her acting. knowing she is #1 people would want to watch her films and this will make her more popular and succesful in what she does.
This also has many advantages on the producer as having powerful actors will already garentee them some sort of success. Becasue of films such as the Hunger Games which is considered as her Main film and a film she is most rememebred by, was also a big hit.
The oppposite to start power would be someone not even rated. An example of this would be Lindsey Lohan. Lately we see she hass not been succesfull at all with her career and and she has a considerably low raing on the meter.
