Horror Film Making Techniques

There are many different techniques that are used in the production of makinh a horror film. One would be to think of a story line, horror is a very repettaive genre where most of the things are recyled and are highly predictable, so getting a good  idea would be the first step, i ideathat is fresha nd unique yet still awesome.

Another technique would be to cast proper and appropriate caracters. Charcters that have maybe already stared in horror films and very know the genre very well. Having the right characters is jey as they will be the ones who amke the film.

Another technique used in horror fims is the music and sound, both diagetic and non diagetic. Music normally used can be high pitched, low pitched, to create suspence, and the sound effetcs are to add effects and theese are normallu used to suit the situation of the film or a ceartain scene. Music and sound are key as they play a vital part in the film, the music and sound is what creates the mood ad atmoshere. In horror films we normally see suspensive music taht creates a vibe.

Another technique used i horror films is to ahve a killer or monster. For this any thing can be used whether it is human or a mythical monster. In the past we have seen many like aliens, zombies, vampires, ghoasts, spirits or even animals. the creature agin is a vital part of the film, if it is made well and works welll then it makes a horror film even better.

another technique used would be the extra effects that are added to the films. Sometimes a film can overuse effects and that can go horribly wrong as it can make the film unrealistic and stupid but just the right amount of effetc scan make the film 10x better. An example of a effect used in a horror film could be, how we see the amount of damage done in a film like 'The Day After Tomorrow' the edits and effects showed that the scene really did look realistac and it seemed as if it was all happeneing for real.

Another technique horror film use is the time the are realeaed, normally we see gorror films being realeased around October time for obvious reasons; Haloween and then so on through autumn and winter. the reason for this is because arounf Haloween time is when people would want to see scary films and so becuase of this they are released around that time to create a even bigger hype. A horror film is probably the last film you would want to watch arounf spring and summer time.
